Lost and Found

What to do if you find or lose a pet

If you have found a cat that you suspect might be stray, you can bring the cat to us and we will scan it for a microchip. If the cat is uninjured and micro-chipped we will try to contact the owner but will ask you to return the cat to where you found it, as long as it is safe to do so.

If the cat is injured or ill, we will ask you to inform the RSPCA before bringing the cat in. The RSPCA will issue a log number and will allocate funding for the treatment of the animal.

Uninjured stray cats will not be admitted to the hospital.

If you have lost a pet

If your pet has gone missing, you can call the Clockhouse Veterinary Hospital on 01453 752 555 and we will check to see if we have a record of any found pets matching the description.

Stray dogs picked up by the Stroud district council or members of the public are now taken to Teckles Animal Sanctuary in Whitminster. You can contact them between 6am and 8pm on 01452 740300.

24 Hour Service

At Clockhouse Veterinary Hospital we have dedicated veterinary nurses on site 24/7 and experienced vets available should you be concerned about your pet outside of normal opening hours. This enables us to deal with surgical and medical emergencies that arise during the night, as well as continued monitoring and care of hospitalised and critically ill patients.

If you are worried about your pet please don’t hesitate to call 01453 752 555.

Please note we have a reduced staffing level at night so we would kindly ask that for routine enquiries and appointments you call during our main opening hours.
